Job summaryThis is a fixed term appointment to the Hampshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust and is identified as an important part of its strategy to remain a preferred provider to local Health Authorities and Clinical Commissioning Groups across a wide range of hospital services. Main duties of the jobThe successful applicant will be expected to:
- Deliver quality Orthopaedic services effectively, regularly benchmarking service to improve practice.
- Support the organisational aim of HHFT positively contributing to management and financial strategies.
- Enhance and provide professional leadership within the Trauma and Orthopaedic department. Initiate and take part in regular clinical audit.
- Have an active role in research within the department. Contribute to training and teaching of more junior doctors.

Person SpecificationTraining and Education- MBBS or equivalent
- MRCS or equivalent
DesirableClinical Experience & Knowledge- Minimum 2 years post full registration
- Previous experience in T&O
Clinical Skills and Ability- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and written
- Ability to work with and lead a team
- Understanding of the importance of multi-disciplinary approaches to patient centred care
Desirable- Demonstrate understanding of research and audit
- Demonstrate the ability to manage change and an understanding of the principles of service improvement
