Help people rebuild their lives after stroke and neurological illness.

We are seeking an enthusiastic and skilled Clinical Psychologist to join our established multidisciplinary neuro-rehabilitation services across Bath and North East Somerset.

This is an exciting opportunity to provide specialist neuropsychology input across three well-established services supporting adults with neurological conditions. The role offers a varied caseload, collaborative multidisciplinary working, and the opportunity to make a significant difference to patients' rehabilitation, wellbeing, and quality of life.

The post is split equally across stroke rehabilitation services and movement disorder services, providing a diverse and rewarding clinical experience.

Location
Clara Cross Centre, St Martins Hospital, Bath, with opportunities for home working.

Hours
37.5 hours per week (full-time), typically worked Monday to Friday between 8:00am and 6:00pm; however, core business hours operate between 6:00am and 8:00pm across 5 days out of 7, and there may be future service requirements to support this wider working pattern.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver specialist psychological and neuropsychological assessments, formulations and evidence-based interventions for patients with neurological conditions, as well as support for families and carers.
  • Conduct neuropsychological assessments and provide cognitive rehabilitation to support recovery, independence and quality of life.
  • Work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement effective, patient-centred rehabilitation pathways.
  • Provide specialist consultation, supervision, training and support to qualified staff, Assistant Psychologists and wider healthcare teams.
  • Lead and contribute to MDT meetings, offering expert psychological input to assessment, treatment and care planning.
  • Develop and facilitate psychologically informed groups for patients, families and carers.
  • Contribute to service development, audit, research, teaching and quality improvement activities in partnership with the Clinical Neuropsychologist and Service Lead.

Essential
  • Doctorate-level qualification (or equivalent) in Clinical Psychology recognised by the British Psychological Society, with current HCPC registration.
  • Experience working within neuropsychology, neuro-rehabilitation and/or neurological services.
  • Strong knowledge of neurological conditions and evidence-based psychological interventions.
  • Proven experience conducting specialist psychological and neuropsychological assessments, formulating treatment plans and delivering tailored interventions.
  • Ability to analyse complex clinical information and apply sound clinical judgement to support effective decision-making.
  • Experience providing clinical supervision, specialist advice, training and support to colleagues.
  • A commitment to service development, quality improvement and delivering evidence-based practice through audit, research and outcome evaluation.
  • Excellent problem-solving, organisational and IT skills, with the ability to manage complex clinical situations effectively.

Desirable
  • A postgraduate qualification in Neuropsychology (e.g. Diploma or MSc) recognised by the British Psychological Society.
  • Experience of working within community-based services.
  • Expertise in delivering highly specialised neuropsychological interventions and developing complex management plans for people with neurological conditions.
