Job Summary
As a Specialist Community Public Health Nurse (SCPHN Health Visitor), you will join our Child and Family Wellbeing Service in Warwickshire. This is a highly rewarding role where you will lead and deliver the Healthy Child Programme, supporting children and families to achieve the best possible outcomes.

You will work within a defined locality, building strong relationships with families and partners to promote health, reduce inequalities and safeguard children. Main Responsibilities
In this role, you will act as the public health lead for a defined population, delivering the Universal Partnership Plus reach of the Healthy Child Programme. You will assess health needs, identify risks and deliver personalised, outcome focused interventions to support children and families. You will lead within a skill mixed team, delegating appropriately while maintaining oversight of care delivery and outcomes. You will hold responsibility for children on child protection plans within your locality, working closely with partner agencies to ensure robust safeguarding and coordinated care. You will build strong, professional relationships with families, carers and multi agency partners, promoting physical, emotional and mental wellbeing. You will also play a key role in prevention, early intervention and signposting to wider services to ensure families receive the support they need at the right time. Key responsibilities include:
  • Delivering the Healthy Child Programme and leading public health interventions
  • Assessing needs and providing targeted and personalised support to families
  • Safeguarding children and managing cases including those on child protection plans
  • Leading and supporting the skill mix team to deliver high quality care
  • Working collaboratively with partner agencies to improve outcomes
  • Promoting health, wellbeing and early intervention within the community

Person Specification
Essential
  • Specialist Community Public Health Nursing qualification (Health Visiting)
  • Current NMC registration on the SCPHN part of the register
  • Experience of working within a health visiting or community setting
  • Strong knowledge of safeguarding policies and procedures
  • Experience of leading interventions to improve outcomes for children and families
  • Excellent communication, leadership and organisational skills

Desirable
  • Experience leading or supporting a skill mixed team
  • Practice Assessor or Practice Supervisor qualification
  • Experience supporting students or newly qualified staff
  • Experience contributing to service development or quality improvement

Other requirements
  • Full UK driving licence and access to a car insured for business use
