We have an exciting opportunity to join an established Older Adult Mental Health Team providing services across Evesham, Pershore and Malvern localities. The team's core working hours are Monday to Friday, 9:00am to 5:00pm, with flexibility available around these hours. We can offer either Evesham or Malvern as your team base, you would initially be expected to work from one of these locations while becoming established in the role. Once settled, there may be opportunities to incorporate some home working. We welcome both full-time and part-time applications, with a minimum of 30 hours per week required.

We are a supportive and welcoming team that regularly hosts students and values continuous learning and development. Our service has a strong focus on person-centred care, with particular emphasis on understanding and responding to the unmet needs expressed by people living with dementia. You will have opportunities to develop specialist skills and will receive regular supervision and professional support.

Main duties of the job
In this role, you will work across the Dementia Pathway, undertaking initial assessments for people referred to the service for a potential dementia diagnosis, as well as supporting individuals with an existing diagnosis whose needs have become more complex and require specialist assessment, advice or intervention. You will also be responsible for completing detailed functional assessments to support the diagnostic process.

You will manage your own caseload and diary, so strong organisational and time management skills are essential. You will participate in weekly multidisciplinary team (MDT) meetings, where new referrals, case allocations and complex cases are discussed to support collaborative decision-making and patient care.

The role requires the ability to undertake comprehensive, holistic assessments, identifying both strengths and areas of need. You will work in partnership with patients and their carers to develop personalised care plans and complete risk assessments, ensuring that care is safe, effective and responsive to individual needs.

Qualifications
Essential

• Diploma / degree in OT with HCPC Registration
• Postgraduate level training/experience relevant to mental health

Experience
Essential

• Documented evidence of continuing professional development
• Significant post registration experience including experience within mental health
• Minimum 1 year within / related specialty
• Extensive clinical experience including individual and group work

Knowledge
Essential

• Specialist knowledge and application of occupational therapy assessments and interventions, relevant to patient group.

Skills and Abilities
Essential

• Ability to work autonomously and set own priorities
• Ability to organise and respond efficiently to complex information
• Ability to build effective working relationships
