Job summaryAn exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 7 Speech and Language Therapy Team Leader to work within the Expert at Hand model. The role is for 22.5 hours per week, and support will be provided by a team of colleagues who are committed to delivering timely, high-quality and innovative care.
The successful post holder will provide day-to-day operational management of a team of qualified and unqualified staff within Speech and Language Therapy. They will have the opportunity to undertake clinical work in a range of settings and will liaise with key partners across health and education.
For secondment opportunities, applicants must obtain approval from their substantive line manager prior to applying and evidence of this approval must be provided as part of the application process.Main duties of the job- To provide high-quality, evidence-based clinical care in line with the guidance of Humber Teaching NHS Foundation Trust, the Health and Care Professions Council, and the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists, with the paramount concern being the wellbeing of clients.
- To provide day-to-day operational management of clinical staff working within the Experts at Hand pathway, including supervision and support, ensuring staff wellbeing and professional development.
- To continue to demonstrate advanced clinical skills in practice and provide support and advice regarding service development and the delivery of care, in partnership with patients, relatives, staff, commissioners, managers, and external agencies across the agreed service area.
- To continuously evaluate levels of clinical effectiveness through the use of evidence-based practice and outcome measures.
- To ensure key performance indicators are achieved within this model.
- To attend, participate in, and chair relevant meetings, adapting communication to meet the needs of others.
- To work in partnership with the Service Manager and deputise as required.

Person SpecificationQualifications, Education and TrainingEssential- Evidence of project work that has had a positive impact on service delivery
- Post graduate degree or equivalent or be able to demonstrate equivalent knowledge or experiential learning/experience in service development, managing change, leading and managing staff, plus specialist training and short courses to diploma level relevant to area of practice
Knowledge and ExperienceEssential- Evidence of post-registration professional practice
- Demonstrable experience of working in the specific field where the post is held
