An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Planned Care Unit team at Kettering General Hospital

We are looking for a registered Nurse who is a motivated team player to join our expanding team and services to ensure we can provide safe and compassionate care to patients within our Planned Care Unit.

Planned Care at KGH is a busy unit that is currently operational Monday to Friday between the hours of 08:00-18:00, and Saturdays 08:00-16:00.

Main duties of the job

• To carry out care without direct supervision as part of the Planned Care Unit team.
• To communicate effectively within the multidisciplinary team.
• Contribute towards the effective running of the department including safe and timely patient care.

Within your role as staff nurse you will assist in providing care and coordinating all patient services that run through this department, and ensuring that patient experience, safety and clinical quality are maintained. You should have the skills and abilities to provide high quality clinical care in a fast paced environment.

• The ability to communicate with patients and their families/carers during a highly stressful time, requiring the ability to alter communication strategies dependent on the situation and the patient's status
• To demonstrate accuracy and clarity in verbal, written and electronic communication; and appropriate information storage
• The ability to make judgments on problems requiring investigation, analysis e.g., assessment of patient condition, suitability for discharge
• Able to assess, plan, implement and evaluate clinical care
• The ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team to ensure high quality nursing/midwifery service
