Job summaryWorking closely with the UHN senior leadership team you will co-create, develop, deliver, embed, and evaluate Perinatal Mortality Review Tool (PMRT) process across maternity services. This role will have direct and indirect change to clinical care aligning to the national maternity transformation programme with particular focus on Maternity Incentive Scheme, MBRRACE-UK priorities and findings and the National Bereavement Care Pathway.
The postholder will also provide and maintain appropriate assurance frameworks for sustainable delivery of any actions or recommendations
The post holder will take the lead on embedding the Perinatal Mortality Review Tool (PMRT) whilst supporting services to achieve the relevant standards of the NHS Resolution Maternity Incentive Scheme (MIS) designed to support the delivery of safer maternity care, driving a culture of continuous improvement.
This post includes participation in the 24-hour Senior Midwifery manager on call rota.
The post-holder will occasionally need to work at the other site and may be required to travel to other UHN locations to meet service needs. Expenses are claimable under NGH/KGH policies.
Main duties of the jobIt is imperative that everyone using maternity services receives safe and personalised care, the UHN PMRT Matron will be a visible, responsive and supportive leader who will work with the UHN senior leadership team and maternity and neonatal workforce to transform and improve our services to enable us to deliver the best outcome for women, birthing people, and their families, ensuring that they receive consistently high standards of safe and effective care, that is constantly innovating and improving.
The post holder will be responsible for developing and maintaining detailed action plans working alongside the UHN Senior Team to ensure robust mechanisms are embedded in the service.

Person SpecificationKnowledge & ExperienceEssential- Clinical professional qualification or operational management qualification or equivalent knowledge gained in a health-related organisation
- Significant experience of working within maternity services
- Comprehensive working knowledge and understanding of the Maternity Transformation Programme and national drivers for change and improvement across maternity & neonatal services
- Management experience to include experience of having undertaken change management
- Experience of analysing complex data with multiple components of information in both qualitative and quantitative formats
Desirable- Knowledge and understanding of current NHS structures and health and social care delivery systems
- Knowledge and understanding of NHS commissioning and benchmarking
- Project management at a senior level with evidence of leading and managing improvement projects
- Ability to present complex, sensitive or contentious information to a large group of staff or members of the public
Educations, Training and QualificationsEssential- Educated to Masters level or equivalent level of education, training or experience
- Registered Midwife
- Evidence of Continuous Professional Development
- Must currently Lead PMRT Reviews
