About the role
Location: Home-based, covering East Anglia (regular travel across the region required)
Hours: 20 hours per week, with scope to increase as the live-in service grows
Salary: £30,000 per annum (full time equivalent), pro-rata + paid mileage

The Regional Care Advisor is the field-based face of Kingsley Live-In Care across East Anglia. You will visit prospective clients in their own homes to carry out care needs assessments, build person-centred care plans and get new live-in placements started safely and quickly. Once a placement is live, you will be the person who keeps it working well - carrying out spot checks, competency assessments, supervisions and care plan reviews with our live-in carers, and staying in close contact with clients and their families.

This is a home-based role. You can live anywhere in East Anglia and will spend much of your working week out visiting clients and carers across the region. You will work closely with the Live-In Care Manager and Live-In Care Coordinator, and with the registered managers and coordinators in our East Anglia branches who refer live-in enquiries to the live-in team. Occasional travel to support live-in placements outside the region may be required.

Key duties and responsibilities

• Respond promptly to new live-in care enquiries, carrying out assessments in clients’ homes and supporting families through the decision-making process.
• Complete comprehensive care needs and risk assessments, including medication, moving and handling, nutrition, environment and equipment requirements.
• Develop clear, person-centred care plans that enable live-in carers to deliver safe, consistent care from day one.
• Help match the right live-in carer to each client, considering their care needs, personality, preferences and specialist requirements.
• Support the start of new placements, including carer introductions, handovers and first-week check-ins.
• Carry out regular spot checks, competency assessments, supervisions and welfare checks with live-in carers across the region.
• Review and audit care plans, daily notes and MAR charts, ensuring records are accurate, complete and up to date.
• Identify and follow up on incidents, complaints, safeguarding concerns and changes in clients’ needs.
• Support carer breaks and handovers to maintain continuity of care.
• Build strong relationships with clients, families, carers and healthcare professionals, including GPs, district nurses, OTs and social workers.
• Work closely with branch teams and the Live-In Care Manager to ensure referrals and placements progress smoothly.
• Manage your own diary and travel efficiently across the region, prioritising new assessments and placements requiring urgent support.
• Maintain accurate records and contribute to the continuous improvement of the live-in care service.
• Participate in the live-in on-call rota as required.

Skills and attributes
Essential

• At least two years' experience of working in a care setting with vulnerable adults, including time in a senior carer, team leader, field care supervisor or similar role
• Experience of carrying out care needs assessments and writing care plans
• Experience of conducting spot checks, competency assessments and supervisions
• Level 3 Diploma in Health and Social Care (or equivalent), or willingness to work towards it
• Good working knowledge of CQC fundamental standards and what good, safe care looks like in someone's own home
• Confident IT skills, including experience of a digital care management system (Birdie or similar)
• Ability to work independently from home, manage your own workload and make balanced, clear and timely decisions
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain the service clearly and build trust quickly with clients and families
• Empathy, understanding and a genuine commitment to person-centred care
• Full UK driving licence, access to your own vehicle and willingness to travel regularly across East Anglia (Class 1 business insurance required)
• Flexibility to work outside standard hours on occasion, including participation in the on-call rota
• Understanding of and clear commitment to equal opportunities and health and safety practices
• This role will require you to obtain an Enhanced Disclosure from the relevant body

Desirable

• Experience of live-in care, either delivering it or coordinating it
• Experience of supporting hospital discharge or working with complex conditions such as dementia, Parkinson's, stroke recovery or end of life care
• Training or assessor qualifications, for example moving and handling trainer or medication assessor
• Knowledge of East Anglia and its local health and social care networks
