Job summaryAn exciting opportunity has arisen for enthusiastic and motivated Band 6 Musculoskeletal (MSK) Physiotherapists to join our Richmond MSK Service.
We are recruiting to two roles:
- 1 x Full-time, Permanent
- 1 x Part-time, Fixed-term (10-month contract)
We have two main sites at Teddington Memorial Hospital and Centre House (SW14 8LP) and a smaller additional clinical at Whitton Corner Health and Social Care Centre (TW2 6JL).
A successful candidate for this post will need to be self-motivated, forward-thinking and committed to this area of specialism with experience and skills as outlined in the personal specification.
The MSK service is made up of a large team of physiotherapists, including an MSK interface service and women's health service.
The service offers physiotherapy through face to face, virtual, classes including hydrotherapy and shockwave.

Candidates must be a member of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapists, registered with the Health and Care Professions Council and hold a degree in physiotherapy.
Main duties of the job- Provide high quality Physiotherapy in our MSK services working under the guidance of more senior Physiotherapists. This can be in both the main departments, and as a lone worker in satellite clinics.
- To provide competent and developed musculoskeletal assessment, diagnosis and appropriate onward management of patients presenting with chronic and acute musculoskeletal problems.
- Deliver programmes of supported patient self-management, in ways that facilitate behavioral change, optimises individuals' physical activity, mobility, fulfillment of personal goals and independence, and that minimise the need for pharmacological interventions
- To provide leadership and support to junior colleagues in the assessment and management of musculoskeletal clinical conditions.
- Engage in service improvement projects.

Person SpecificationQualificationsEssential- Current HPC registration and Diploma/Degree in Physiotherapy OR equivalent
- Membership of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy
ExperienceEssential- Broad range of Band 5 care clinical specialities including Musculoskeletal and Orthopaedics
- Experience treating patients with complex pain and co-morbidities
- Experience with patients with high depression and anxiety score
SkillsEssential- Demonstrate excellent communication skills to facilitate plans and concepts and empower lifestyle change.
- Ability to work effectively both autonomously and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
KnowledgeEssential- Good working knowledge of electrotherapy principles and their application in the management of musculoskeletal conditions.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant professional practice and new research/ research papers
