Job PurposeTo ensure the provision of a comprehensive and professional physiotherapy/rehabilitation service for entitled personnel. This includes undertaking highly skilled and specialist work in the musculo-skeletal (MSK)/sports and training injury areas.
Main DutiesPerforming highly skilled physiotherapeutic assessment of patients referred by Consultants, General Practitioners and other Healthcare Professionals with diverse presentations and complex and acute/chronic physical conditions and sports injuries. Using clinical reasoning skills to provide an accurate clinical diagnosis. Formulating, developing and delivering a specialised individualised treatment programme based upon evidence-based practice, manual assessment and appropriate clinical reasoning. Providing clinical reports to supply clinical prognoses and comprehensive discharge planning for other medical professionals and, where appropriate, the military Chain of Command. Communicating effectively with patients to ensure informed consent for assessment and treatment, good understanding of their conditions and to maximise their rehabilitation potential.
Key Responsibilities- Having professional and legal accountability to the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (CSP) and Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC), adhering to all directed standards and codes of practice.
- Adhering to Ministry of Defence (MoD) policies in accordance with delivering a service within a MoD establishment.
- Developing and maintaining of your own personal, service and professional standards at the highest attainable levels through continuing professional development activities and maintenance of a portfolio.
- Having effective communication with all other rehabilitation and unit personnel and with external medical personnel from other agencies/units.
- Assisting in developing protocols to enhance the clinical development and efficacy of clinics and Special Interest Groups.
- Assisting in identifying training needs and organising in-service training for the unit medical facility.
- Managing and prioritising your own clinical caseload efficiently and effectively.

Person Specification - Essential- Bachelors of Science (BSc Hons) Degree in Physiotherapy (or equivalent)
- HCPC and MCSP registration
- Must have consolidated experience working as a post graduate Musculoskeletal Physiotherapist
- Must have relevant experience in the assessment and treatment of musculo-skeletal disorders, sports injuries and orthopaedic conditions
- Completed relevant courses and experience that would be equivalent to graduate diploma level of study
Person Specification - Desirable- Experience in the management of MSK disorders at Band 6 level
- Experience in a broad range of physiotherapy services e.g. NHS rotations
