Description

Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Salaried GP to join our team for four sessions per week Thursday & Friday. This is an excellent opportunity for a GP looking for a flexible role within a progressive and well-organised practice.

You will provide high-quality, patient-centred care, working alongside an experienced clinical and administrative team. The role includes routine consultations, telephone/online triage and participation in practice meetings.

Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will work as part of our multidisciplinary team delivering high-quality primary care services to our patient population. Duties will include:
  • Providing safe, effective, and patient-centred GP consultations
  • Managing acute and chronic conditions within the practice setting
  • Undertaking telephone and face-to-face consultations as appropriate
  • Reviewing pathology results, clinical correspondence, and prescribing requests
  • Working collaboratively with practice nurses, HCAs, pharmacists, and other PCN staff
  • Participating in clinical meetings and contributing to quality improvement activities
  • Supporting the practices commitment to training and professional development

Person Specification
Qualifications
Essential
  • Medical degree (MBBS or equivalent)
  • Full registration with the General Medical Council (GMC)
  • Inclusion on the GMC GP Register
  • Valid licence to practise in the UK
  • Completion of GP specialty training (CCT or equivalent)
  • Experience of working in primary care settings
  • Ability to manage a wide range of acute and chronic conditions
  • Competence in clinical examination, diagnosis, and treatment planning
  • Up-to-date knowledge of evidence-based practice and clinical guidelines
  • Strong clinical decision-making and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team
  • Competence in IT systems and electronic patient records
  • Commitment to high-quality patient care and safety
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage workload effectively
  • Strong organisational and time-management skills
  • Commitment to continuing professional development (CPD)
  • Understanding of confidentiality, safeguarding, and ethical practice

Desirable
  • Interest or additional training in a specialist area (e.g. diabetes, mental health, womens health)
  • Experience in teaching, training, or mentoring junior staff or medical students
  • Experience with clinical audits and quality improvement initiatives
  • Leadership or management experience within a healthcare setting
  • Familiarity with local healthcare systems and referral pathway
  • Empathy and a patient-centred approach
  • Adaptability and willingness to embrace change
  • Commitment to equality, diversity, and inclusion
  • Proactive approach to service development and improvement
