Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a varied clinical workload, including face-to-face, telephone and online consultations. A key part of the role will involve participating in the practice's total triage system, reviewing patient requests and ensuring patients are directed to the most appropriate clinician or service.
The post holder will work closely with members of the multidisciplinary team to provide safe, effective and responsive care. There will also be opportunities to contribute to clinical decision-making, service improvement initiatives and the ongoing delivery of high-quality primary care services.

Job responsibilities- Undertake face to face telephone and online consultations
- Participate in the total triage system and review patient requests
- Assess diagnose and manage acute and long term medical conditions
- Prescribe medications safely and appropriately
- Develop and manage treatment plans
- Refer patients to secondary care and community services when required
- Undertake home visits when clinically appropriate
- Provide health promotion and preventative healthcare advice
- Maintain accurate clinical records using EMIS Web
- Work collaboratively with doctors nurses pharmacists paramedics healthcare assistants and administrative teams
- Participate in clinical governance quality improvement and audit activities
- Attend practice meetings training sessions appraisal and revalidation activities
- Support safeguarding responsibilities relating to children and vulnerable adults
- Comply with information governance confidentiality equality diversity and health and safety requirements
Person Specification
Qualifications Essential- Full GMC registration with licence to practise
- Inclusion on the NHS England Performers List
- MRCGP or equivalent qualification
- Eligible to work in the United Kingdom
Experience Essential- Experience of working within UK General Practice
- Experience managing acute and chronic medical conditions
- Experience undertaking face to face telephone and online consultations
- Experience working as part of a multidisciplinary team
