Job summaryApplications are invited for the role of Lead Radiographer for Paediatrics at Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust. We are seeking an enthusiastic, organised and highly motivated diagnostic Radiographer with excellent communication, management & leadership skills to provide the professional leadership for the paediatric service / department at Leeds General Infirmary. They will be a compassionate leader responsible for delivering an efficient, safe, effective and high-quality radiographic imaging service. The Lead Radiographer will line manage Team Managers, Radiographers, Assistant Practitioners and assistants. They will be line managed by the Head of Profession. Main duties of the jobThe successful candidate will be responsible for the professional leadership & management of rotational staff. The post holder is the named and identified lead and point of contact for advice & expertise. Responsible for the care and professional practice delivered with a Radiographic workforce.
The post holder will be a state registered Radiographer with the Health Care Professions Council (HCPC) & will work within codes of practice and professional guidelines. As a professional clinical manager & a member of the radiology management team, they will be responsible for leading, developing & managing all resources (human, physical & financial) for paediatrics within Radiology LGI at the Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust (LTHT).
The post holder has accountability for delivering a safe, effective, efficient & quality service appropriate for all users in accordance with the Trust’s strategic plans & operational policies. They are accountable for delivering service-related targets, implementing legislation & national frameworks.
Post holders at this level are expected to have significant knowledge of the specific modality including technical & operational issues. They will provide specialist advice & be consulted on a wide range of issues which arise in their modality. They will ensure the highest standards of technical, clinical & operational practice.
