Job summaryThis is a 6 PA locum appointment for a Consultant in Genitourinary Medicine (Sexual Health & HIV), with a special interest in Adolescent HIV. This post will be available from September 2026 for 6 months in the first instance.
This post will deliver 6 PAs supporting the HIV outpatient medicine team and Leeds Sexual health integrated sexual health service.
The post will be based at Leeds General Infirmary and Leeds Sexual Health service sites.
The successful applicant should hold accreditation in Genitourinary Medicine in the Royal College of Physicians or equivalent, and should be on the Specialist Register or within six months of being admitted to the Register for trainees if currently in a training programme within the UK, or have references which have been authorised by the Deputy Medical Director and Clinical Director.
Main duties of the jobThe post-holder will provide Out-patient clinical care and senior supervision in HIV and integrated sexual health (STI and Contraception patients), HIV Prep +/- LARC procedures depending on competencies. There will be opportunities to contribute to teaching, research and innovation.
Applicants should have established skills in HIV and integrated sexual health (STI and Contraception patients), HIV Prep +/- LARC procedures depending on competencies; and experience in providing holistic adolescent HIV care. Excellent communication and team working skills, a strong commitment to teaching and service development are essential.
