Job summary

We are excited to offer an 7-8a Clinical Psychologist in Paediatric Metabolic services based in the Nottingham arm of the Regional Metabolic Team.

The Metabolic Team supports children and young people with complex metabolic conditions across the East Midlands region and the team is made up of nurses, doctors, dietitians and social care staff.

The role is offered up to 18.75 hours per week.

Newly qualified applicants may be considered for appointment at a Band 7 on a preceptorship basis.

Main duties of the job
We are looking to recruit a psychologist with experience of psychological and neuropsychological assessment, formulation and intervention with children and young people with health conditions. There will be opportunity to work with individuals to provide psychological and neuropsychological assessment and intervention. This role will also include liaising school, social care and working with family members and there is also potential to be involved in developing and delivering group work. The successful candidate will work closely with the Paediatric Metabolic MDT to offer joint working, consultation and training.

The post sits within the Leicester Neuropsychology department which is an innovative and enthusiastic group including neuropsychologists and clinical psychologists working within various specialties including inpatients, outpatients and community across the lifespan. The successful applicant will join a supportive department with regular supervision and opportunities for continuing professional development and support for those who wish to pursue careers in neuropsychology including support for postgraduate study.

Research and evaluation activity is actively promoted within the service and there will be opportunities to develop these areas in line with the applicants interests and service objectives. We also have close links with the Leicester DClinPsy course in terms of provision of placements as well as teaching and training.
