Job summary
Leicestershire Partnership NHS Trust delivers Mental Health Support Teams (MHSTs) across Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland, providing early intervention and preventative mental health support in education settings.

We are seeking an experienced Clinical Team Leader (Band 7) to provide operational and clinical leadership across MHSTs in Melton & Rutland, Hinckley and Loughborough. This senior role sits within a growing, nationally recognised early intervention programme. You will lead large, skill-mixed teams delivering evidence-based interventions for children and young people with mild to moderate mental health needs, while shaping service delivery across education and community systems.

This role suits a confident, resilient leader experienced in managing complex multi-disciplinary teams, delivering clinical supervision, meeting KPIs, using data to drive improvement, managing stakeholder relationships and embedding change. If you are passionate about early intervention, thrive in fast-paced environments and want to improve outcomes for children and young people, we welcome your application.

A full UK driving licence and access to a car during working hours is essential.

Main duties of the job
As Clinical Team Leader, you will provide operational and clinical leadership, ensuring the safe and effective delivery of MHST interventions.

You will lead skill-mixed teams, oversee performance against KPIs and quality standards, use service data to drive improvement, and provide workforce planning, caseload oversight and risk management. You will also support service development and continuous improvement.

The role includes providing clinical supervision and professional leadership, maintaining high standards of governance and safeguarding, supporting staff development, and holding a reduced but complex clinical caseload.

You will build strong relationships with schools and system partners, support delivery of the Whole School Approach, contribute to pathway development, and promote participation and co-production with children, young people and families.

Working closely with Service Managers, Clinical Leads and senior colleagues, you will help ensure delivery of a high-quality early intervention service.

We are seeking a leader with experience of mental health or CYP services, team management, clinical supervision, performance management, service improvement, data analysis and change implementation. Experience of report writing, stakeholder engagement and developing high-performing teams is essential.

This is an exciting opportunity to shape early intervention services and improve outcomes for children and young people.
