This role will be responsible for developing architecture and design while informing requirements, verification, and validation. This position will apply architectural design principles to develop system architectures and lead the integration of engineering disciplines to implement designs that enable the successful launch of life-saving oncology systems in a competitive market.

Key Responsibilities
This role will define requirements, verify, and validate system interoperability. This position will lead the integration of engineering disciplines to deliver system solutions that successfully meet the needs of our customers and development partners.

Key Product Development Responsibilities

  • Mentor engineers within the team to build broader team knowledge and capabilities.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Key Customer-Oriented Responsibilities
  • Co-led with Client Delivery Project Management the collection of specific integrations and configurations needed by a prospective customer.
    • For collected integration needs, determine the ability of the baseline product to support the customer’s application. In situations where there is a lack of alignment, work with Product Management to disposition the needs.
    • For collected configuration needs, ensure the delivered product is configured to match the agreed upon specification.
  • Collaborate with Engineering, clinical customers, and collaboration partners to implement and validate customer DICOM/IHE workflows.
  • Conduct joint debugging sessions using DICOM logs, network traces, and validation tools (e.g., DVTk, Offis DCMTK) to resolve interoperability issues.
  • Work with the customer’s IT team and vendors to prepare for product installation, proactively identifying potential issues.

Relevant Knowledge and Skill requirements
  • Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in engineering or a science-related field.
  • At least 12 years of engineering experience, with experience in interoperability of medical and imaging systems.
  • Extensive experience leading multidisciplinary engineering teams.
  • Customer-facing experience in collecting tailored needs.
  • Extensive hands-on experience with DICOM standards and IHE integration profiles, including implementation, validation, and troubleshooting of interoperability workflows.

About Leo Cancer Care
Cancer is one of the biggest killers that we face today, with 1 in 5 people diagnosed at some point in their life. It affects us all. 50% of all patients diagnosed with cancer should receive Radiation Therapy as part of their treatment, but due to the cost, size, and complexity of current technology, the number that do is around half of that.

Current Radiation Therapy is delivered with a patient lying supine on a table while a large machine is rotated around them, delivering radiation from different angles to kill the tumour. Lying on a table, many patients report that they feel like a passenger in their treatment, feeling vulnerable throughout the entire process. Leo Cancer Care was founded with one clear goal: to bring a more human approach to treating cancer and empower patients to face treatment on their own terms.

We are looking for an enthusiastic individual to complement our passionate team in their mission to revolutionize cancer treatment. You can be part of a world-class team, developing the treatments of tomorrow. Leo Cancer Care is helping make changes in Radiation Therapy by shifting to upright patient positioning, imaging, and treatment. We do what we do to find a better way, a better way to treat cancer and create a paradigm shift in radiation therapy to benefit all. We will do this by improving the accessibility and quality of medicine in cancer care globally, making cancer treatment a more human experience for all.

Working in radiotherapy, not only will you be driving change for the greater good, but you'll be working on products that span a large field of different disciplines.

Ways of Working
Leo Cancer Care is dedicated to fostering a diverse and inclusive workplace environment. We embrace and celebrate the unique backgrounds, experiences, and perspectives of all individuals. We believe that diversity enriches our organization and strengthens our ability to innovate and excel. Discrimination or harassment of any kind will not be tolerated. We encourage all qualified candidates to apply and join us in their mission to create a respectful and equitable workplace for all.
