Main duties of the jobAn excellent opportunity has arisen to join the Children's Community Speech and Language Therapy Service as a Band 6 Specialist Speech and Language Therapist, on a temporary contract. You will be working with children with complex Eating Drinking and Swallowing, and Communication needs across a range of community settings including Child Development Centre, mainstream schools, Special Schools, early year's settings and homes in North Kirklees.
You will assess, diagnose and deliver care to children and young people with eating, drinking and swallowing (EDS) and speech, language and communication needs.
You will work independently and as a member of the wider MDT to work collaboratively and to provide relevant and child-centred support to families and key colleagues across health, education and social care.
Experience of having worked with children with EDS and complex SLCN across a range of settings is considered essential as is having a relevant degree qualification in Speech and Language Therapy.
This post is subject to a DBS check and you must be able to fulfil the travel requirements of the post.
This role is not applicable for sponsorship and candidates must be able to demonstrate their right to work in the UK.
