Job summaryThis Advanced Specialist Neonatal/Paediatric Dietitian post is an exciting opportunity for an experienced dietitian to work in the specialist area of neonatal and paediatric dietetics. This is a fixed term opportunity for either 0.6 or 0.8 WTE depending on the preference of the applicant, covering a secondment until the 31/08/2027.
Main duties of the jobThe role with involve leading the dietetic service provision to the level 2 neonatal unit, working alongside another dietitian.
The dietetic caseload includes regular attendance at the ward rounds on the neonatal unit, and at the weekly multidisciplinary neonatal neurodevelopmental clinic. There is a strong focus on working with other members of the neonatal MDT, including providing support to the neonatal outreach nurse team.

Person SpecificationEducation and qualificationsEssential- Degree in Nutrition and Dietetics or equivalent postgraduate qualification
- Current HCPC registration
Desirable- Member of BDA paediatric group and neonatal subgroup
- Relevant postgraduate clinical qualification
Knowledge and experienceEssential- Advanced knowledge within the specialist area of paediatric dietetics
- Extensive clinical experience of working within a range of paediatric patients
- Sound knowledge of neonatal dietetics with completion of relevant training in the area
- Significant experience of working as an intergral member of an MDT and interagency working
- Evidence of CPD
- Evidence of contributing to service development
- Knowledge and application of counselling skills/motivational interviewing/behavioural change
- Previous experience of conducting audits and/or research
- Experience/awareness of working within a diverse, multi-cultural population
Desirable- Previous experience working in neonatal dietetics at a band 6 or band 7 level
