Job Title: Scientist

Lonza has an exciting opportunity for a Scientist to join our R&D department at our Cambridge facility. In this role, you will lead client-facing projects involving the design, execution, and optimisation of in vitro cell-based bioassays using human peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMCs) to assess the immune response to therapeutics.

What you will do
Support and deliver in vitro cell-based bioassays to assess immune responses to therapeutic candidates across multiple client studies.
Perform routine isolation, banking, and characterisation of human peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMCs) following standard operational procedures.
Maintain reliable laboratory workflows, troubleshoot routine experimental procedures, and assist in optimising and expanding assay capabilities.
Keep accurate laboratory records, compile findings into technical reports, and present results to project teams and clients.

What we are looking for:
Degree (BSc or MSc) in Biological Sciences, Immunology, or a related discipline.
Solid theoretical understanding of immunology and bioassay principles.
Hands-on laboratory experience with cell culture techniques, aseptic handling, or immune cell isolation, preferably in an industrial environment.
Strong commitment to continuous learning and professional development
Clear communication, strong record-keeping abilities, and meticulous attention to detail.
