Job summaryAn exciting opportunity has arisen within our dental laboratories for an experienced and forward thinking Crown and Bridge Technician (Band 7) to lead our team at the University Dental Hospital of Manchester.
Applications are invited from dental technicians who are fully registered with the GDC and hold recognised qualification(s) plus experience, whether that be in a commercial or hospital laboratory.
We are seeking an innovative, talented and self-motivated individual to join our extended, multi-disciplinary dental team. The successful candidate will have good knowledge and practical experience of Fixed prosthodontics and implantology in both digital and analogue workflows. The role has responsibility to support the Crown and Bridge team within the laboratory and the wider clinical team.
Main duties of the jobDuties of the role include but are not limited to:
- Construction of a wide range of fixed prosthodontic appliances and prosthesis which will be advanced and complex.
- Develop, support and manage a highly specialised workforce.
- Day-to-day running of the Crown and Bridge department, responsible for work allocation, Quality Control, compliance and Health and Safety.
- Must have sufficient post-qualification Crown and Bridge experience to be able to work independently and take responsibility towards furthering the training of other staff within the service.
- Work effectively as part of team demonstrating attention to detail, good organisational skills and compliance with laboratory regulations and protocols.

Person SpecificationProfessional registrationEssential- Current registration with the GDC as a Dental Technician.
QualificationsEssential- Academic qualification recognised by the GDC
- Advanced qualification / equivalent experience
DesirableCommunicationEssential- Good written communication skills and attention to detail
KnowledgeEssential- Knowledge of a range specialised technical procedures
- Knowledge of dental implantology
Desirable- Knowledge of laboratory regulations/compliance.
ExperienceEssential- Substantial experience in Crown and Bridge
Desirable- Knowledge of digital Crown and Bridge workflows
- Supervisory experience
