Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust
Nursing Assistant - Children's Complex Care
Job summary
We are Manchester Local Care Organisation - an exciting, new public sector organisation that is bringing together NHS community health services and social care services in the city. We're driven by the aim of improving the health of local people in Manchester by working across organisational boundaries.
We are looking for compassionate and dedicated Band 2/3 Support Workers to join our community team, supporting children with complex health needs in their own homes and local environments. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of children and their families by providing high-quality, person-centred care. The post holder will become part of a team of registered nurses and carers working with families and young people delivering a range of high quality care packages. Do you enjoy working in partnership with children and families? Do you enjoy working in the community? Do you enjoy supporting children with a range of abilities requiring technological support? Are you looking for a new challenge? Do you want to extend your knowledge and experience of complex care? Posts are full time but we will consider part time applicants. The successful applicant will progress through, and upon completion of the Trust Clinical Support Worker Development Programme demonstrating evidence of clinical knowledge, skill and competency the worker will move to band 3 AfC.
Main duties of the job
The Children's Community Complex Care Team provides care and support to a range of children and young people with varying healthcare needs, some who are technology dependent, in a variety of settings across the Manchester area. The complex care team is currently looking to recruit nursing assistants to provide support and care to a range of young people across the city. The post holder will become part of a team of registered nurses and carers working with families and young people delivering a range of high quality care packages. You must be a highly motivated and dedicated individual who has the ability to work flexibly to meet the needs of the service over a 24 hour/7 day period. Travelling across the Manchester area you will hold a full driving licence and have access to a vehicle for work purposes.
In return we can offer you a friendly support team, comprehensive induction, relevant training and development opportunities and also the opportunity to develop care skills working within a multidisciplinary framework in the community setting.
