A Day in the Life
The Service & Repair function is part of the Customer Care & Supply Chain organization and supports customers across a broad portfolio of Medtronic technologies, including Ear, Nose and Throat (ENT), Acute Care & Monitoring (ACM), Cranial & Spinal Technologies (CST), and Surgical Innovations (SI). As a Field Service Engineer, you will provide technical support, maintenance, and repair services for a diverse portfolio of medical technologies. You will partner with hospitals and healthcare providers to maximize equipment uptime, deliver a high-quality customer experience, and identify opportunities to expand service agreements and support long-term customer relationships.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Perform installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair activities for medical equipment within the assigned territory.
  • Execute scheduled preventive maintenance visits to ensure equipment performance and compliance with service requirements.
  • Build and maintain relationships with Clinical Engineering, Electro-Bio Medical Engineering (EBME), and other key customer stakeholders.
  • Achieve service performance objectives, including customer satisfaction and operational service metrics.
  • Identify and support opportunities for service contract sales, renewals, and service revenue growth.
  • Maintain accurate service documentation, maintenance records, and regulatory compliance requirements.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve technical issues and improve customer service delivery.
  • Ensure adherence to operational procedures, quality standards, and safety requirements.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree, Higher National Certificate (HNC), or equivalent qualification in Electronic Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electro-Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
  • Experience from field service, technical support, or equipment maintenance experience within the medical device, healthcare, or life sciences industry.
  • Experience troubleshooting and repairing electronic or electro-mechanical systems.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel 50-75% within the assigned territory.
  • Experience using computerized maintenance management systems or service documentation tools.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience servicing medical devices or healthcare technologies within a hospital environment.
  • Knowledge of preventive maintenance programs and field service best practices.
  • Experience supporting service contract renewals or identifying commercial service opportunities.
  • Experience delivering technical or operational training to customers.
  • Knowledge of Clinical Engineering or Electro-Bio Medical Engineering (EBME) service environments
