The Shropshire, Telford & Wrekin Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS) welcomes applications from Team Managers to join ourMental Health Support Teams (MHST)

The Mental Health Support Teams (MHST's) are also become part of the school community, engaged in the curriculum impacting on the whole school whilst reaching those with identified emotional wellbeing and mental health needs. The Team Manger will ensure that the service is delivered to the highest quality, meeting the needs of children, young people and families, and our colleagues in education.

MHST teams offer 3 core functions of service:

• Delivering evidence-based interventions for children & young people with mild-to-moderate mental health problems
• Supporting the senior mental health lead in each education setting to introduce or develop their whole school/college approach
• Giving timely advice to school & college staff, and liaising with external specialist services, to help children & young people to get the right support & stay in education

If you hold a nationally recognised professional qualification & are registered with the relevant regulatory body, such as the HCPC, Social Work England, or the NMC, we would love to hear from you. Equally w e welcome application from candidates without a core registration

Applicants should also have experience working with children & young people (CYP) experiencing emotional and mental health difficulties, alongside proven leadership & management experience.

Main duties of the job

• To be operationally responsible for the Mental Health Support Teams and ensure that is fulfils the core offer.
• To ensure that all workforce responsibilities are carried out, such as managing performance, annual leave, sickness, expenses, annual appraisals, operational supervision, training requirements.
• To work alongside the Teams in building and strengthening relationships with schools working with the Mental Health Support Teams.
• To develop and maintain good referral links withCAMHS STWPathways.
• To develop and maintain good working relationships withCAMHS STWPartners and external agencies within health, social care and third sector organisations.
• To be responsible for the Teams in meeting national and local performance targets.
• To ensure the quality and accuracy of data and reports that are submitted to the Contracts Commissioner for reporting up to NHS England.
• To demonstrate outstanding leadership and management skills to ensure the on-gong development of staff and the service.
• To contribute to the development of ideas and innovative practice and propose changes to protocols and procedures within the Mental Health Support Teams and CAMHSSTWwhere required.
• To initiate and participate in departmental audit as requested by the Service Manager or Quality Improvement Lead.

• Degree level education.

Desirable

• Core professions: Nurse NMC professional body, AHP professional bodies and EMHP and CWP with professional bodies BABCP or BSP

• Knowledge of educational systems and structures

Experience

• Of working with CYP with emotional wellbeing and mental health difficulties
