Job summaryWe are a dynamic, friendly, training practice with 8700 patients and are looking for a GP to join our team of 5 partners and 6 salaried doctors to cover a Maternity Leave. We would be interested to hear from a GP in any stage of their career, including recently or newly qualified GPs. We are offering a supportive package with the opportunity for mentoring to help someone starting off in practice or returning to practice after a break. The post is for 5 sessions a week and will run for approx. 12 months. We are looking for cover Tuesday and Friday all day with a Thursday morning.
Main duties of the jobSupporting the whole practice team is very important to us and we have a daily morning huddle, weekly clinical meetings, monthly whole team meetings and lunch together every day as well as regular walks and wellbeing sessions. We are a SystmOne practice with a total triage system using econsult. We are a busy practice but have put in place lots of techniques to take the pressure off the doctors while providing excellent patient centred care, such as regular admin sessions, half day duty dr. We also have an expanding multidisciplinary team including a pharmacy team, a nurse practitioner and mental health practitioners. We are proud to be the Greenest Practice in Brighton.

We are a SystmOne practice using a total triage clinic with econsult. Sessions have 13 patients maximum, with a mix of face to face and phone calls and you will work approximately one duty session (half -day) per week. We have an expanding multidisciplinary team including a pharmacy team and a nurse practitioner. We also have Primary Care Network ARRS staff attached to the practice including a social prescriber and mental health workers. We are proud to be the greenest practice in Brighton. Person SpecificationExperienceEssential- Experience of working in a primary care environment.
- Experience of continued professional development.
- Experience of QOF and clinical audit. Outstanding level of clinical knowledge and skills commensurate with that of an experienced GP. Excellent communication skills (written and oral).
- Strong IT skills Clear, polite telephone manner.
- Competent in the use of Office and Outlook.
- Effective time management (Planning & Organising).
- Ability to work as a team member and autonomously.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Problem solving & analytical skills.
- Ability to follow clinical policy and procedure.
- Experience with audit and able to lead audit programmes.
- Experience with clinical risk management
Desirable- Experience with SystmOne clinical system is desirable but not essential
QualificationsEssential- Qualified GP MRCGP Vocational Training Certificate or equivalent JCPTGP General Practitioner (Certificate of Completion of Training CCT) Full GMC Registration National Performers List Registration. Appropriate defence indemnity (e.g., MPS/MDU).
- Eligibility to practice in the UK independently. Able to hold a practice list.
