More about the roleOur store pharmacies play an essential part in supporting the health and wellbeing of our local communities. As a Pharmacy Dispensing Assistant, you'll work alongside our Pharmacists to accurately label, assemble, and dispense prescribed medicines, making sure our customers get the safe, compassionate care they rely on.
Reporting directly to the Pharmacy Manager or Pharmacist, you'll support daily operations, deliver key pharmacy services like blood pressure or health checks, and make sure every customer feels properly supported.
In this role, you’ll be on hand to:
- Put customers first : Engage compassionately with customers, guiding them to take medication safely and answering queries with a warm, helpful attitude.
- Accurately dispense medicines : Label, assemble, and perform first accuracy checks on prescribed items, supporting the safe and legal operation of the pharmacy.
- Deliver pharmacy services : Offer advice and deliver in-store health services, specialised fittings, and prescription hand-outs in line with company procedures.
- Keep operations safe and legal : Follow all Standard Operating Procedures, data security rules, and stock management routines to maintain availability and minimise waste.

You'll be the kind of person who has:
- Approved pharmacy qualifications : Completed an approved Pharmacy Dispensing Assistant course (such as the NPA DAC), and completed—or committed to enrolling on—an approved Pharmacy Technician / Accuracy Checking qualification (like the BTEC Diploma Level 3).
- GPhC registration progress : Registered (or actively working towards registration) as a practicing Pharmacy Technician with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC).
- A caring attitude : Shows real care and compassion for customers, with an enthusiastic attitude toward delivering pharmacy services, supporting team goals, and using initiative to resolve queries comfortably and efficiently.
