Job summary
We welcome applications from mental health nurses, clinical psychologists, social workers, psychotherapists, family therapists, and other qualified professional staff for the role of senior CAMHS practitioner within SET CAMHS Mid-Essex.

Mid-Essex SET CAMHS are looking to recruit a full time qualified professional from nursing, social work, psychology, family therapy or psychotherapy to join a community CAMHS team based in Chelmsford, Essex (covering Maldon/Braintree and Halstead). SET CAMHS works to the iThrive model, with this role sitting within the Getting More Help and System Support sections. The MID Essex team is a multi - disciplinary team providing evidence based therapies to children and young people. We are seeking a candidate with experience of working with young people with more complex mental health needs. The successful candidate would ideally have some supervisory experience however training and support can be provided.

The band 7 role supports formulation and risk management within the Multi-Disciplinary team, as well as supporting band 6 staff.

Main duties of the job
  • To complete assessments of mental health need with children, young people and their families and carers.
  • To complete collaborative risk and care plans with children and young people.
  • To provide evidence based interventions for a range of presentations.
  • To provide treatment and interventions for children and young people with additional neurodevelopmental needs and co-morbid mental health issues.

Starting with NELFT
NELFT place a great deal of importance on new starters being properly welcomed and inducted into the Trust. All new starters will join the Trust on the first Monday of each month and will undertake a comprehensive induction of up to two weeks which will include mandatory training, systems training and the allocation of equipment. As part of the process new starters will have the opportunity to also meet the executive team, senior managers, and attend a number of drop-in sessions focusing on engagement, health and wellbeing and key processes. The induction will be held at our head office in Goodmayes Hospital.
