Job summaryAn exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Health Visitor or School Nurse to join the Multi Agency Child Protection and Assessment Team. The post holder will be key in offering a health perspective as part of the child protection process. This team will include a mix of social workers, health practitioners, police and education.
Main duties of the job- To be a health expert in safeguarding and child protection.
- To interpret health information accurately to support the safeguarding process and offer relevant advice and guidance to the wider multi agency team.
- To work in collaboration with the multi agency team.
- To be a conduit between children's social care and the wider health network to ensure timely and relevant information is shared as part of the child protection process.
- To be the lead professional where required.
- To deputise when required in the team managers absence and delegate appropriately to junior staff.
- To be responsible for organising and prioritising own workload in the day to day allocation of work.
- To offer clinical health advice to support decision making within the child protection process and support the lead for health within the team.
- To have organisational, local and national knowledge surrounding safeguarding and child protection to inform decision making.
- To be responsible for providing accurate records of information required by the Trust for audit purposes.
- To ensure effective risk management at team level by accident/incident reporting.
- To employ professional curiosity in your day-to-day role and act upon any findings appropriately.
- To be able to analyse and interpret health information to inform multiagency risk assessments and safety plans.

Starting with NELFTNELFT place a great deal of importance on new starters being properly welcomed and inducted into the Trust. All new starters will join the Trust on the first Monday of each month and will undertake a comprehensive induction of up to two weeks which will include mandatory training, systems training and the allocation of equipment. As part of the process new starters will have the opportunity to also meet the executive team, senior managers and attend a number of drop-in sessions focusing on engagement, health and wellbeing and key processes. The induction will be held at our head office in Goodmayes, Essex.
Probationary PeriodThis post will be subject to a probationary period. Internal applicants are exempt from the probationary period (unless you are an internal applicant currently part way through a probationary period or currently a bank member of staff).
High-Cost Area SupplementThis post also attracts payment for High-Cost Area Supplement of 15% of the basic salary (minimum payment of £4,870 and a maximum payment of £6,137) pro rata for part time staff.
