Job summaryWe are looking for a highly motivated part time Practice Nurse with good interpersonal and communication skills to join our busy and friendly team for 23 hours per week. We are a SystmOne teaching Practice based near the City Centre, we have a patient population of around 14,000, and our last CQC rating was Good.
This is a permanent position and your working days
must include Thursday and Friday. Salary is negotiable depending on experience.
Main duties of the jobPrevious Practice Nurse experience is required and key duties will include:
- Assist in and perform routine tasks related to patient care as directed by senior nursing staff and GPs
- Asthma management
- Chronic disease management
- Cytology
- Wound care
- Travel Clinic
- Peak Flow Readings/Spirometry
- Ear syringing
- Routine immunisations/Childhood immunisations
- Contraception checks
- Following agreed clinical protocols with referral to senior nurse or GP as appropriate
About usComplementing our existing clinical team of 10 Doctors, 3 Practice Nurses, 2 HCAs and 2 Phlebotomists, you will work closely with clinical and administrative colleagues alike.
Job responsibilitiesJob Summary
- Provide assessment, treatment, screening, health education services and advice, working in accordance with the NMC Code of Conduct;
- Provide nursing treatments to patients independently or in participation with nurse colleagues and General Practitioners with reference to agreed protocols and guidelines;
- Provide general and specific health screenings to the patients with referral to General Practitioners or other health professionals as necessary.
Person SpecificationExperienceEssential- Experience of working in Primary Care
Desirable- Experience of working in a GP Practice
- Experience of working with SystmOne
QualificationsEssentialDesirable- Qualified in Chronic Disease Management
- Qualified in cervical cytology
- Qualified to perform ear syringing
- Qualified to perform immunisations
