The Trust is seeking a Consultant Psychiatrist to join the Older Peoples Mental Health Inpatient Services at The Julian Hospital, Bowthorpe Road, Norwich. The vacancy has arisen as a result of expansion and restructuring of the Inpatient Service Provision at the Julian Hospital site.

Main duties of the job
The post holder will be responsible for overseeing the patients on Hammerton Court, with some cross cover between Hammerton Court, Sandringham ward and Blickling ward when required. The post holder will also provide some consultant input to the Intensive Older Peoples Support Team.

The Older Adult Inpatient Provision has seen major re-organisation over the past decade which has enabled significant service improvements to occur. There are currently inpatient hospital facilities for older adults at 2 sites in Norwich and Lowestoft, covering the older adult's population for West Norfolk, Central Norfolk and Great Yarmouth & Waveney. There are also separate inpatient units in East Suffolk and West Suffolk.

Qualifications
Essential

• Full registration with the GMC with licence to practice
• Approved Clinician Status
• Section 12(2) Approved under the Mental Health Act (MHA)
• Specialist Register or within 6 months of CCST
• MRCPsych or equivalent

Desirable

• Certificate of Completion of Specialist Training (CCT) in Psychiatry of Old Age

Experience
Essential

• 3 years or equivalent medical experience
• 6 months experience in relevant clinical area
• Evidence of knowledge of diagnosis, treatment + management of complex mental illness
