Job summary
The post holder will support the Chief Nurse and Deputy Chief Nurse to drive through improvements in the quality of care and ensure the efficient delivery of care, developing a culture which encourages innovation, creativity and learning, at ward and specialty level.

Main duties of the job
The primary role of the Associate Chief Nurse (Corporate Nursing) is to provide strong, inspirational, progressive and empowering leadership to the Trust's nurses, midwives and support staff. Working with the Chief Nurse and the Deputy Chief Nurse the post holder will lead on workstreams and to support the delivery of the Trust Quality and Workforce and integration Strategies, including the implementation of the Nursing and Midwifery Strategy, Mental Health Strategy ensure that non-medical clinical leadership is an influential and important voice across the Trust.

Job responsibilities

Evaluation - Essential

• Demonstrable leadership experience at a senior level
• Broad knowledge of the patient safety agenda
• Enhanced knowledge of workforce and patient flow
• Evidence of driving quality improvement methodologies

Evaluation - Desirable

• Significant experience in patient experience, complaints and risk mitigation

Assessment and Interview - Essential

• Evidence of operational and strategic development and implementation of patient safety initiatives and strategies

Assessment and Interview - Desirable

• Experience in managing budgets and delivering cost improvements within a quality framework

Desirable - Essential

• Experience of operating with and communicating effectively with Executive Directors, Non-Executive Directors, Governors, Clinical Directors and Divisional Managers
