Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and motivated Band 6 or existing Band 7 Physiotherapist to join our inpatient Trauma and Orthopaedic Therapy Team, covering the orthopaedic wards across Warrington and Halton Hospitals. This post offers an ambitious individual the opportunity to further develop their clinical expertise and leadership skills within a supportive and dynamic team. The successful candidate will be a confident leader, providing clinical support and supervision to therapy staff and contributing to service development to deliver high-quality, innovative, patient-centred care. Working in a fast-paced clinical environment, you will manage a complex clinical caseload across both elective and trauma orthopaedic services. Cross-site working between Warrington and Halton Hospitals is a requirement of the role. You will bring in-depth knowledge and experience of working within this specialist area in the NHS, alongside a comprehensive understanding of the 'Home First' approach.
Main duties of the job
The role involves managing a day-to-day clinical caseload, using advanced clinical reasoning and assessment skills to provide specialist physiotherapy assessments and interventions for patients with complex orthopaedic presentations across both the elective and trauma sites. You will supervise team members and contribute to in-service training programmes, supporting the development of clinical competencies and ongoing education within the team. You will support the Trauma and Orthopaedic Therapy Team Lead in the day-to-day management of the service. Working closely with the multidisciplinary team and patient flow management, you will help the Team Lead respond to operational pressures and deliver the Trust's strategic objectives. Experience of working within orthopaedics in an NHS setting is essential. This is a full-time post of 37.5 hours per week, worked over five days under a seven-day working contract, including participation in the weekend rota.
