Job summary
**INTERNAL ONLY TO NORTH CUMBRIA INTEGRATED CARE NHS FOUNDATION TRUST (NCIC) EMPLOYEES**

Band 5 Nurse, 9 Months fixed term. The Heart Centre, full and part time available

Provision of quality care to cardiac patients who require coronary care, general cardiology and step down care and patients requiring invasive and non-invasive cardiac investigations, treatments and rehabilitation.

Main duties of the job
Assess, plan, deliver and evaluate nursing care for patients within all of the acute cardiac care areas, providing the prescribed nursing care without supervision. Contribute to the development and evaluation of nursing practice in the acute cardiac areas.

The Trust will provide a twelve month preceptorship period for New to registration Nurses Midwives and Allied Health Professionals.

  • Enhanced Check: £49.50 + administration cost of £6.50 = £56.00. Deducted from salary over following 4 months or one off payment.

  • Registered nurse with active registration.

Knowledge and Experience
Essential
  • Continuing professional development with portfolio.
  • Equality issues.
  • NMC code of professional conduct.

Desirable
  • Relevant field of nursing.
  • Cath lab experience
  • Cardiology experience
  • Equality legislation and best practice.

Skills and Aptitudes
Essential
  • Able to work as a member of a team
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work as a mentor to HCA'S
  • Ability to demonstrate the compassionate values and behaviours needed for dignified care

Desirable
  • IT skills
  • Extended clinical skills

Other Requirments
Essential
  • Flexible approach to shift patterns and participation in on call rota to provide 24/7 PPCI service
