We are looking for CBT Therapists or Clinical / Counselling Psychologists who are BABCP accredited or eligible for accreditation to join the service at this interesting time of change and expansion within Islington.

Main duties of the job
Islington Talking Therapies (ITT) is an integrated Talking Therapies service (formerly IAPT Improving Access to Psychological Therapies) providing a range of Talking Therapies approved interventions.The successful candidate will provide high intensity cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) with patients who have a range of anxiety disorders and depression related problems for which CBT is demonstrated to be clinically effective. As part of their caseload, the post holder will be expected to carry out assessments and offer CBT Groups as well as individual CBT treatment.The post holder will be required to work with people from different cultural backgrounds and ages, using interpreters when necessary and may work in various community settings, including GP surgeries and community venues.The service seeks to provide ease of access for service users and to this end there will be a requirement to work flexible hours between 8am and 8 pm based on service requirements.

Job responsibilities

• Offer CBT treatment in individual sessions (Digital via Teams or face to face).
• Offer CBT treatment in a group setting (Digital via Teams or face to face).
• Conduct assessments (Telephone or face to face).
• Accept referrals via agreed protocols within the service.
• Make decisions on suitability of new referrals, adhering to the services referral protocols, and refer unsuitable clients on to the relevant service or back to the referral agent as necessary.
• Formulate, implement and evaluate therapy programmes for people attending the service.
• Educate and involve family members and others in treatment as necessary, conveying CBT formulations with sensitivity in easily understood language.

Skills
Essential

• Skills in the use of a range of methods of psychological assessment (including psychometric tests), intervention and management for the full range of problems of severity and complexity presented in adult mental health, including challenging behaviours.
• Ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing, with clients, their families, carers and other professional colleagues both within and outside the NHS.
• Skills in providing consultation and supervision to other professional and non-professional groups.
• Ability to form good working relationships with others in a multidisciplinary setting.
• Ability to teach and train others, using a variety of multi-media materials suitable for presentations within public, professional and academic settings.
• Ability to identify and employ mechanisms of clinical governance as appropriate, to support and maintain clinical practice.

Experience/knowledge
Essential

• Experience of psychological assessment and treatment of clients across the full range of care settings, including community, primary care, outpatient and inpatient settings.
• Experience of working with a wide variety of client groups, across the whole life course and presenting problems that reflect the full range of clinical severity.
