Job summary
We are seeking two full-time, experienced, enthusiastic, and highly motivated Non-Medical Prescribers (NMPs) to join the Barnet Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS) Neurodevelopmental Service (NDS).The posts are full-time positions (37.5 hours per week) within a specialist CAMHS Neurodevelopmental Service.

This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in delivering high-quality, evidence-based care to children and young people with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) and other neurodevelopmental conditions.

The successful post holders will be responsible for undertaking comprehensive neurodevelopmental assessments, as well as the assessment, initiation, titration, and ongoing management of medication, ensuring safe prescribing practices and robust monitoring of treatment effectiveness, physical health, and potential side effects. Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, you will contribute to clinical decision-making, risk management, care planning, and the continuous improvement of service delivery.

You will support children, young people, and their families throughout the assessment and medication pathway, maintaining regular communication and providing expert advice and support.

Main duties of the job

• Undertake comprehensive Neurodevelopmental Service (NDS) assessments to support the identification and management of ADHD and other neurodevelopmental conditions.
• Undertake assessment, initiation, titration, prescribing, and ongoing management of medication for children and young people with ADHD and associated conditions.
• Ensure safe prescribing practice, including regular monitoring of treatment effectiveness, side effects, physical health, and treatment adherence.
• Maintain regular contact with patients, families, and carers on the medication pathway to support engagement, continuity of care, and timely access to treatment.
• Provide robust risk management, identifying, assessing, and escalating safeguarding, physical health, and clinical risks as appropriate.
• Contribute to multidisciplinary team (MDT) discussions, including NMP MDT meetings, to support clinical decision-making, risk management, and clinical governance.
• Liaise effectively with families, schools, GPs, paediatric services, and other professionals to support holistic assessment, care planning, and positive outcomes.

In order to meet the needs of the Trust you may be required from time to time to work at different locations to your normal place of work. This may mean that you are required to work at any location that fall under Barnet, Camden, Enfield, Haringey or Islington.
