Job summaryBand 7 Specialist Nurse (Non-Medical Prescriber)
Join our innovative mental health team and play a key role in improving outcomes for adults across Hull Community Mental Health Teams (CMHTs) and Primary Care Mental Health Networks (PCMHNs).
As a Band 7 Specialist Nurse Prescriber, you will lead specialist medication reviews, provide expert prescribing advice, and deliver evidence-based treatments for individuals with complex mental health needs. You'll run your own Non-Medical Prescribing clinics, working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to optimise treatment, support recovery, and deliver person-centred care.
This is an exciting opportunity to work alongside Consultant Psychiatrists and Clinical Leads, contributing to high-quality, safe, and effective services. You'll support specialist medication monitoring, including Clozapine and depot antipsychotics, while ensuring compliance with NICE guidance and Trust standards.

Main duties of the jobProvide specialist assessment, prescribing, medication reviews and medicines optimisation for adults receiving care within Hull Community Mental Health Teams (CMHTs) and Primary Care Mental Health Networks (PCMHNs), ensuring care is delivered in line with evidence-based practice, NICE guidance and Trust policies.
Deliver dedicated Non-Medical Prescribing (NMP) clinics, undertaking comprehensive clinical assessments, initiating and reviewing treatment plans, and monitoring the effectiveness and safety of prescribed medication.
Work collaboratively within the multidisciplinary team to develop and implement holistic, person-centred care plans incorporating pharmacological and non-pharmacological interventions to support recovery and positive clinical outcomes.
Provide expert advice and consultation to clinicians, care coordinators, GPs and partner agencies regarding psychotropic medication, medicines optimisation and safe prescribing practice.
Support service performance, quality standards and key performance indicators. Lead on the monitoring and review of high-risk medicines, including Clozapine, long-acting injectable antipsychotics and Sodium Valproate, ensuring compliance with local and national safety requirements.
Contribute to service development, audit and quality improvement initiatives, while providing clinical leadership, supervision and support to colleagues and students.
