Main duties of the jobJoin Our Specialised Children's Nursing Team and Make a Lasting Difference
Service/Ward/Department Overview: As a vital member of our Children's Long-Term Ventilation and Complex Needs team, you'll play a key role in delivering expert, compassionate care to some of our most vulnerable children. Your clinical skills may also be called upon to support other areas within our wider children's community nursing service, ensuring holistic and flexible care tailored to each child's needs.
Role Highlights:- Collaborate closely with dedicated team members and a diverse range of multidisciplinary partners
- Help develop personalised, coordinated care plans for children and young people with complex health needs, including those reliant on medical technology or facing life-limiting conditions
- Be a beacon of support, advocacy, and expert guidance for families navigating complex care journeys

Qualifications/TrainingEssential- Degree or Diploma Level Education as Registered Nurse
- Current registration with NMC (RN Child / RSCN)
- Ability to demonstrate a commitment to professional development.
Desirable- Teaching, mentoring and Assessors qualification or equivalent experience
Experience and KnowledgeEssential- Experience of working in the Community
- Demonstrable experience and awareness of impact of disability on child and family
- Working knowledge of safeguarding practices for children and adults
- Have the ability to demonstrate experience of supporting children and or young people with complex health needs
Desirable- Understanding of continuing healthcare
Skills and AttributesEssential- Evidence of clinical skills to support children and /or young adults who require additional airway support, mechanical ventilation and tracheostomy care
- Ability to travel to different geographical locations across the Trust footprint in line with service needs.
- Ability to work unsupervised
- IT skills
- Good organisational skills and the ability to prioritise work whilst remaining calm under pressure..
- Good communication (written and verbal skills)
- Flexibility to work occasional nights / late shifts to support training and development of carers.
- Competent in delivering training to carers and junior colleagues.
Desirable- Full UK driving license with willingness to use own car for work purposes
- Experience of quality improvement and developing protocols and policies
