Job summary
Are you a qualified Psychiatric Nurse passionate about mental health and supporting people with severe mental illness towards their recovery?

Are you newly qualified and seeking an opportunity to step up from a band 5 role and gain more experience?

If so, then why not consider applying for this role!

The Wantage and Faringdon Team is part of the South Oxon Adult Mental Health Team (AMHT) and has been up-and-running since February 2023. It quickly became a friendly, motivated and well-functioning team, made up of a mixture of experienced and more recently qualified staff.

We are currently seeking a qualified Mental Health Nurse to join our team. We would welcome applications from both experienced clinicians, but also newly qualified professionals who are interested in the role.

You will be based within Wantage Community Hospital, which is within short walking distance of the town centre.

Main duties of the job
The responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to:

  • Holding a caseload of patients who require longer-term follow-up from the AMHT
  • Multi-professional and multi-agency liaison with other services in the local community

You will be supported by an experienced leadership team from across the professions who facilitate forums for Nursing and Occupational Therapists and hold your development as central. We offer regular supervision and you will be encouraged and supported to undertake any training relevant to your professional development.

In terms of hours we would prefer 30 to 37.5 hours per week. You will not be required to work weekends, bank holidays or night shifts.
