Oxfordshire MHST are very excited to be expanding our provision across Oxfordshire. We have two posts available and both will cover school settings across the south of Oxfordshire however our office bases are across all of Oxfordshire mainly central Oxford.

This role will require the candidate to complete the one year Postgraduate Certificate in supervision for Children & Young people's mental health (Low-Intensity) at Reading university, commencing in February 2027.

In line with recommendations outlined by Turpin and Wheeler (2011), supervisor trainees will have the following level of experience:

• A recognised graduate professional training or equivalent professional experience at a senior level.
• Experience delivering CBT informed interventions.

Low Intensity Supervisors must meet the requriements needed in line with BABCP/BPS registration requirements for CWP/EMHPs. This states a minimum of 2 years' as a Child and Young Person's Mental Health professional, including clinical, therapeutic, or consultative work in a CYP setting (as per BABCP/BPS supervision requirements).

Main duties of the job
Working within Oxfordshire MHST, your role will be to supervise EMHPs / CWPs and help them to develop their role. Supervision consists of both Case Management Supervision and Clinical Skills Supervision, following a low intensity model.

As a supervisor for the Mental Health Support Team, your main duties will involve:

• Offering caseload management and clinical skills supervision to qualified and trainee EMHPs / CWP in the service.
• Holding a caseload of young people, offering clinical assessments and low intensity interventions within MHST Schools
• Triaging and allocating referrals via agreed protocols within the service, with support from the Senior Management Team.
• Providing signposting and self-help advice, or refer onto other services, where referrals are not appropriate for MHST
• Supporting EMHP trainees using role modelling to assess and support children and young people with a common mental health problem in the self-management of their recovery.
• Supporting EMHPs / CWP in delivering Whole School Approach work (audits of Whole School Approach, delivery of assemblies, work to promote positive mental wellbeing in the educational setting, groups etc.)

Essential

• Post Graduate or Graduate Certificate in Brief Evidence-Based Interventions for Children and Young People with Common Health Problems (CWP or EMHP) from a Health Education England (HEE) Quality Assured EMHP Training Course (prior to January 2023) or a British Psychological Society (BPS) Accredited EMHP training course (January 2023 onwards).
• Accreditation as EMHP or CWP with the British Psychological Society (BPS) or the British Association of Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapists (BABCP).

Desirable

• Post Graduate Diploma for Senior Wellbeing Practitioners (SWP) or commitment to undertake and complete this course

Professional
Essential

• Demonstratable experience as a Child and Young Person's Mental Health professional, including clinical, therapeutic, or consultative work in a CYP setting (as per BABCP/BPS supervision requirements).
• Demonstratable knowledge of mental health and / or psychological therapies, including an understanding of evidence based therapies.

Experience
Essential

• Experience of working with service users and / or carers within Li CBT framework.
• Experience of delivering and supporting Whole school approach activities

Desirable

• Evidence of offering support / mentoring to colleagues / professionals
