Job Summary
We are looking for a full-time Social worker to join our CAMHS Outreach Team, providing specialist community-based support to children and young people experiencing complex and pervasive mental health difficulties. The service works with those who may struggle to engage with traditional clinic-based provision, offering flexible and responsive care within homes, schools, and community settings.

We enthusiastically welcome the knowledge and expertise of an Social worker to our experienced Multidisaplinary team. The role requires close multidisciplinary working to ensure coordinated, high-quality care throughout the young person's journey in mental health services.

You will hold a clinical caseload, acting as key worker, completing assessments and formulations, developing care plans and risk assessments, delivering evidence-based interventions, and maintaining accurate clinical records. The role also includes the opportunity to be trained in and deliver Dialectical Behaviour Therapy.

Main Duties of the Job
To collaboratively assess, plan and provide evidence-based interventions for children and young people referred to the CAMHS Outreach.

Once trained, partaking in the delivery of the Dialectical Behaviour Therapy for Adolescence (DBT-A) provision. This will include being able to participate in all modalities of the therapy, including being part of the on call phone coaching rota and DBT skills group.

To work closely with a range of agencies including, Social Care, schools, other CAMHS teams to meet the needs of children and young people and work collaboratively to develop/provide integrated services.

Job Responsibilities
  • The CAMHS Outreach team provides a community-based service to children and young people and their carers who are experiencing chronic pervasive mental health disorders; In this role the post holder will contribute to the treatment of patients and their recovery at the key stages of their journey through mental health services.
  • You will hold a clinical caseload, acting as key worker, completing assessments, developing care plans, delivering evidence-based interventions, and maintaining accurate clinical records.
  • The role requires close multidisciplinary working to ensure coordinated, high-quality care throughout the young persons journey in mental health services.
  • You will be trained in Dialectical Behaviour Therapy and contribute to the teams Dialectical Behaviour Therapy for Adolescence provision, including participation in DBT-A skills groups, treatment planning, and phone-coaching on a rota basis, which may include early evening hours.
  • The role involves collaboration with families, schools, Social Care, and other CAMHS teams to ensure integrated and effective support - strong partnership working is essential.
  • The post also includes involvement in service development, clinical governance, audit, and supervision of junior staff or students on placement.
  • Ongoing professional development, supervision, and adherence to safeguarding, data protection, health and safety, and professional standards are required.

Person Specification
Qualifications
Essential
  • Social work qualification with a valid Social work registration

Experience
Essential
  • Post qualification experience in a mental health setting, working with young people or adults with mental illness.

Desirable
  • Experience of working with children and young people who have pervasive; chronic mental illness and their families and carers in the community

Qualities
Essential
  • Ability to reflect on and critically appraise the performance of self and others.
  • Commitment to client centred, non-discriminatory practice

Desirable
  • Willingness to be flexible
