The successful candidate will work with adults with symptoms of mental health within the area, and will need to be able to work both independently and as part of a wider multidisciplinary team.
The post will involve working in a variety of settings including patients own homes, care homes, supported living environments etc and across the soft hub teams.
We are a growing team with close links to our colleagues in both Rotherham, Doncaster and Scunthorpe. We will be able to provide regular support and supervision. Main duties of the jobTo provide a comprehensive Occupational Therapy (OT) service to meet the needs of adults with mental health issues in Doncaster, dealing with more complex cases that have profound and complex difficulties.
To assess occupational and vocational needs and provide occupational therapy interventions on an individual and / or group basis to service users with complex mental health needs.
To supervise junior staff/support staff/ OT assistants to deliver community interventions enabling service users to develop independent living skills and work towards individual rehabilitation and recovery goals.
To develop links with statutory and voluntary sector community resources and ensure that ongoing occupational needs are addressed as part of a safe effective transition process.
To manage a defined caseload of adult service users, using person-centred principles to assess, plan, implement and evaluate interventions through the promotion and implementation of evidence-based practice.
To work autonomously within community settings as part of an integrated community team.

Person SpecificationQualificationsEssential- Degree/Diploma in Occupational Therapy.
- Registration with Health and Care Professions Council.
Desirable- Post-basic education in mental health practice relevant to the practice area
ExperienceEssential- Knowledge of OT Theory, models of practice relevant to post
- Experience of working in a multi disciplinary team
- Competent Caseload management.
