Job summary
Applications for a Senior Staff Nurse position on The Headland Unit are invited from SACT competent nurses, with excellent knowledge, skills and experience in Cancer Services. The right candidate will be able to lead, and motivate the team providing high quality, safe, outpatient SACT services.

Main duties of the job
In this position, you will form part of the senior nursing team, deputising for and supporting the Unit Sisters, Matron, and Lead Nurses, to provide excellent, high quality and safe care within our department, the wider division and the hospital site as required.

You will support and lead the unit team to provide safe and timely administration of SACT to our patients, using excellent clinical skills, communicating in depth information and education as required to staff, MDT colleagues, patients and their carers.

You will contribute to clinical governance and risk assessments, ensuring outcomes are met, information is disemminated, and compliance is acheived to ensure the consistent improvements required in modern healthcare.

You will deputise for the Unit Sisters, with many opportunities to develop leadership skills, both practical and pastoral. You will provide support for the team through development reviews, support education opportunities, and access them yourself to maintain excellent clinical knowledge and skills. You will be a positive role model, and contribute to new developments and ways of working with collaboration with the SACT MDT.
