Job Summary
We are looking for theatre practitioner roles with experience in Gynae, oral surgery, ophthalmology and orthopaedics, ideally with experience across the peri-operative process in more than one area. If you are enthusiastic, motivated and looking for an opportunity to be part of a dynamic team of dedicated staff then this unique opportunity to work in a new specialist elective surgical hospital in the beautiful county of Cornwall could be for you! Experience of working in an operating department is desirable but not essential. Full training and support will be given and we offer many opportunities for further career progression.

Main Duties of the Job
The post holder is responsible for the provision of skilled and knowledgeable assistance to operating surgeons and surgical teams during the full intraoperative pathway. Delivering high quality patient care with the assessment, development, implementation and evaluation of individual programs of care. They are expected to take delegated responsibility in a given shift for a surgical operating list and a group of patients. The post holder will be responsible for the delivery of high quality care and the management of patients during procedures performed under general, regional and local anaesthetic. The post holder will be expected to have a wide range of surgical skills scrub skills and specialty based knowledge to support surgical practice in a multi-specialty environment. The post holder will be required to develop knowledge and skills in the use of specialist equipment and potentially provide support to areas outside their base operating department in the safe and effective delivery of surgical procedures. Individual practitioners will be required to participate in a full rostered rota.

Person Specification
Theatres Experience
  • Essential: Previous Theatre Experience
  • Previous scrub experience in required specialties

  • Desirable: Relevant Theatre extended roles - BLS, Cell salvage, ILS,

Qualifications
  • Essential: On the NMC / HCPC register

  • Desirable: Current qualification at diploma / degree level or working towards

Experience
  • Essential: Theatre Experience Practice
  • Previous scrub experience in required specialties

  • Desirable: Experience of working within surgical specialities

Skills
  • Essential: BLS

  • Desirable: ILS
