Job summaryApplications are invited for a 12 month, full time Trust Doctor post in Obstetrics and Gynaecology working alongside consultants with other middle grade registrars and clinical fellows at ST4-7 level in Obstetrics and Benign Gynaecology Specialty Business Unit.

Main duties of the jobThe post-holder will work as part of the team, rotating between consultants to allow for a wider experience. Whilst the needs of the service are paramount, individual training needs are taken into account and training needs accommodated when possible.
Although this is not a training post, applicants will be encouraged to gain postgraduate qualifications in Obstetrics & Gynaecology, including SITM training. Continuing professional development is encouraged.
The post is also suitable for candidates wishing to complete their specialist training via the Portfolio Pathway route working with appropriate Consultant SITM supervisor at the Royal Surrey NHS Foundation Trust, Guildford. Support in studying will be given to appropriate appointees.

Person SpecificationQualificationsEssential- Full GMC Registration with a Licence to Practice
- MBBS or equivalent medical qualification
Desirable- MRCOG part 1
- ROBUST course
KnowledgeEssential- Core Experience in Obstetrics and Gynaecology
- Experience performing LSCS and instrumental deliveries with indirect supervision
- Experience of dealing with acute early pregnancy problems including independent surgical management of miscarriages
Desirable- Experience working at ST3-8 Level
- ST4 -5 O&G competencies as per RCOG curriculum matrix
- Evidence of active participation in Audit
- Evidence of interest and experience in Teaching
SkillsEssential- Experience in working within NHS
- Able to work without direct supervision where appropriate
