We are looking for an exceptional clinician to join our senior leadership team as Deputy Medical Director.

What You'll Be Doing
You will provide visible and inspiring leadership across the organisation, working closely with senior colleagues to:
- Lead and support clinical governance and quality improvement programmes.
- Oversee clinical audit activity and drive organisational learning.
- Recruit, induct, develop and support doctors and GP Registrars.
- Provide professional leadership and line management to medical colleagues.
- Lead on complaints, serious incidents and patient safety investigations.
- Prepare Patient Safety Incident Investigation (PSII) reports.
- Represent the organisation at Coroner's Inquests where required.
- Build productive relationships with commissioners, NHS England, the CQC and partner organisations.
- Support the Medical Director in delivering strategic priorities and strengthening clinical governance systems across SELDOC.

Person SpecificationQualificationsEssential- Fully qualified General Practitioner (GP).
- Full registration with the General Medical Council (GMC) with a Licence to Practice.
- Inclusion on the GP Register.
- Inclusion on the NHS England Medical Performers List.
Desirable- Significant experience working in: Urgent Care, GP Out of Hours, Urgent Treatment Centres, Primary Care
- Demonstrable senior clinical leadership experience.
- Experience in clinical governance.
- Experience of patient safety and quality improvement.
- Experience investigating incidents and complaints.
- Ability to supervise and support GPs and GP Registrars.
- Strong understanding of: Clinical Governance, PSII (Patient Safety Incident Investigations), Coroner's processes, CQC standards, NHS commissioning and regulation.
