Applications are invited from candidates with suitable training for the position of Clinical Fellow in Paediatric Haematology/Oncology. This substantive post, offering up to 10 Programmed Activities (PAs), is based at Sheffield Children's NHS Foundation Trust.
This is an exciting opportunity to join a motivated and committed multidisciplinary team of consultants, nursing and support colleagues, delivering excellent care to children and young people within a tertiary service. Any Clinical Fellow who is unable to work full-time for personal reasons will be eligible to be considered for the post. Where appropriate, modifications to the job plan and content will be discussed on an individual basis with the Trust in consultation with consultant colleagues.
Interviews are expected to be held w/c 23rd November 2026.
Main duties of the job
The Paediatric Oncology Service is part of the wider Haemato-Oncology Service at Sheffield Children's Hospital. It provides a tertiary service for South Yorkshire and North East Lincolnshire and includes a regional paediatric autologous stem cell transplant programme which also covers Nottinghamshire and the East Midlands. Patients with solid tumours are cared for by a team of four consultants.
You will work as part of the multidisciplinary Haemato-Oncology team, contributing to the assessment, treatment and ongoing management of children and young people with haematological and oncological conditions, while supporting the delivery of high-quality care across inpatient, outpatient and day-case settings.
You will gain experience within a specialist tertiary service, including exposure to stem cell transplant programmes and the management of both malignant and non-malignant conditions.
About us
At Sheffield Children's, our purpose is clear: to provide healthier futures for children and young people. Our three strategic aims are Outstanding Patient Care, Brilliant Place to Work, and Leaders in Children's Health.
We work with partners across local, regional, and national levels to deliver physical and mental healthcare in both acute and community settings. Many of our clinicians are nationally and internationally recognised for their expertise.
We're proud that 73% of colleagues would recommend Sheffield Children's as a place to work, placing us among the top five NHS trusts in England -- and the top-ranked trust in the North East and Yorkshire -- in the latest NHS Staff Survey.
Our nearly 4,000 colleagues bring our CARE values -- Compassion, Accountability, Respect, and Excellence -- to life every day, creating a kind, welcoming environment where patients and families feel safe and supported.
As we approach our 150th anniversary in 2026, we're excited to keep building our leadership in children's health, improve experiences for patients and staff, and focus on our communities and population health.
We also offer excellent benefits to support your wellbeing, with generous annual leave and pension schemes, health and wellbeing programmes, and exclusive discounts -- helping you thrive at work and beyond.
