You'll play a key role in areas such as Trust-wide resuscitation trolley equipment provision, Equipment Library operations, and technical support within weekly respiratory clinic settings.

Regular weekend working is part of the role.

Key Responsibilities:

• Carry out planned preventive maintenance (PPM), servicing, inspection and repair on a range of non-complex to moderately complex medical devices
• Perform routine fault-finding, using appropriate diagnostic techniques to identify and resolve issues
• Support the safe condemnation and disposal of medical devices
• Conduct acceptance testing for new and loaned equipment before clinical use
• Assist with the rollout of newly accepted devices into clinical areas
• Contribute to Trust-wide resuscitation equipment schemes to ensure readiness and compliance

• Contribute to the Clinical Engineering services of MEMD including planned maintenance, repair, acceptance and condemnation
• Knowledge and Skills applied to medical equipment will include

• Electrical and Mechanical Tools
• Fault Finding
• Computer Technology
• Use of test Equipment
• Communication/interpersonal skills, commensurate with effective team working and liaison with clinical and professional colleagues

Qualifications
Essential

• Level 4 qualification e.g. HNC/D in Electrical/Mechanical/Medical Engineering or equivalent. Candidates with the lower qualification would be taken on via Annex 21 in a training role to reach this minimum level

Further Training
Essential

• Additional Knowledge achieved through attendance of manufacturer's training courses for non-complex and moderately complex medical devices

Experience
Essential

• Experience of maintenance and repairs of a comprehensive range of complex and moderately complex medical electrical/electronic/mechanical devices

Desirable

• Experience working within Healthcare Environment
