Sinclair-Strong Consultants Ltd (SSC) is an independent NHS-commissioned healthcare provider specialising in neurodevelopmental assessment and treatment services. As a CQC-regulated organisation, we deliver high-quality, patient-centred ADHD and Autism services across England. We are seeking an experienced and motivated Clinical Specialist Prescriber to join our growing FLOCUS Adult ADHD Service. This role is open to suitably qualified Registered Nurses holding an Independent or Supplementary Prescriber qualification (V300); or GPhC-registered Independent Prescribing Pharmacists. This is an exciting opportunity to work within a specialist multidisciplinary team supporting adults through ADHD treatment pathways. Working under the clinical leadership of our Consultant Psychiatrists, you will provide safe, effective and evidence-based ADHD medication management, including titration, monitoring and treatment optimisation in line with NICE guidance and best practice standards. Main duties of the job- Undertake ADHD medication titration, review and stabilisation for adult patients.
- Prescribe ADHD medications within the scope of your professional registration and prescribing qualification.
- Monitor treatment response, side effects, physical health parameters and clinical risk factors.
- Assess medication effectiveness and support treatment optimisation.
- Support shared care arrangements with primary care providers where appropriate.
- Provide patients with education and advice regarding ADHD medications and treatment plans.
- Maintain accurate and contemporaneous clinical records.
- Participate in multidisciplinary team discussions and case reviews.
- Contribute to safeguarding, risk management and patient safety processes.
- Participate in clinical governance, audit and quality improvement activities.
- Work collaboratively with consultant psychiatrists, psychologists and wider MDT colleagues.
- Maintain professional registration, revalidation and continuing professional development requirements.

Job responsibilities- Clinical & Prescribing Responsibilities
- Undertake ADHD medication titration, review and stabilisation for adult patients, in line with NICE guidance and SSC ADHD clinical pathways.
- Prescribe ADHD medication within scope of NMP qualification, ensuring appropriate clinical justification, documentation and monitoring.
- Monitor treatment response, side effects, physical health parameters and risk factors throughout titration and ongoing treatment.
- Escalate complex, high-risk or atypical presentations to the Medical Director or Consultant Psychiatrist as required.
- Contribute to shared-care arrangements with GPs, supporting appropriate handover where clinically and operationally feasible.
- Clinical Governance & Patient Safety
- Practice in accordance with SSC's Clinical Governance Framework, Medicines Management Policy and Prescribing SOPs.
- Contribute to PSIRF-aligned patient safety processes, including incident reporting, reflective learning and safety improvement actions.
- Maintain accurate, timely and contemporaneous clinical records in line with regulatory and professional standards.
- Participate in clinical audit, peer review and service evaluation activity relating to ADHD treatment and prescribing.
- Safeguarding & Risk Management
- Identify, assess and appropriately respond to safeguarding concerns involving adults at risk.
- Work collaboratively with SSC's Safeguarding Lead and wider MDT to ensure safeguarding processes are followed and documented.
- Undertake and document clinical risk assessments and risk management plans where indicated.
- Ensure reasonable adjustments are considered for neurodivergent patients and those with co-occurring vulnerabilities.
- Multidisciplinary Working
- Work closely with psychiatrists, psychologists, medical practitioners, administrators and governance colleagues within the FLOCUS pathway.
- Support effective clinical communication across assessment, treatment and follow-up stages.
- Provide clinical input into MDT discussions, case reviews and service development initiatives.
- Professional Practice & Development
- Maintain current NMC registration and Nurse Prescriber V300 qualification.
- Participate in clinical supervision, appraisal and revalidation processes in line with SSC policy.
- Engage in continuing professional development relevant to ADHD, prescribing and neurodevelopmental practice.
- Practice in accordance with the NMC Code and SSC values.

Person SpecificationQualifications Essential- Independent Prescriber qualification - V300 or Pharmacist Independent Prescriber.
Experience Essential- Current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) as a Registered Nurse or with the General Pharmaceutical Council GPhC as a Pharmacist.
- Demonstrable experience delivering ADHD medication titration, monitoring and review within adult ADHD services.
- Strong understanding of ADHD pharmacological treatments, medicines optimisation and prescribing governance.
- Experience assessing clinical risk, side effects and treatment effectiveness.
- Knowledge of NICE guidance relating to ADHD assessment and treatment.
- Strong understanding of safeguarding, clinical governance and patient safety principles.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently within a remote clinical environment.
- Competent IT skills and experience using electronic patient record systems.
Experience Desirable- Experience working within NHS-commissioned ADHD services.
