Main duties of the job- To perform occupational therapy assessments, to aid diagnosis and treatment of patients who may have diverse presentations and complex physical and psychological conditions; including orthopaedic, vascular, neurological, cognitive problems.
- To assist in the discharge planning process as part of the wider MDT.
- To hold responsibility for own case load and be responsible for a defined area of the service or a particular patient type, working with supervision where required. Supervision takes the form of regular formal training, regular clinical supervision sessions and access to informal supervision from senior staff.
- To undertake all aspects of clinical duties as an autonomous practitioner.
- to provide support/supervision for the occupational therapy students, assistant practitioners, rehab support workers and activities co-ordinator.
