Job summaryWe are seeking an experienced Advanced Cardiac Physiologist to join our forward-thinking Cardiology team. The role encompasses CRM and catheter lab services, supporting a wide range of devices including pacemakers, CRTs, ICDs, S-ICDs, Micras, and conduction system pacing. The post holder will assist with complex implants, perform device follow-up, and contribute to service development. You will work within a multidisciplinary team, demonstrating strong clinical, technical, and leadership skills while driving innovation and delivering high-quality patient care.

The role involves supervision and training of junior members of the team, and wider training of other staff groups as required.
You will be expected to refresh and extend your own clinical skills and partake in service development and research within the trust.

Key Result Areas:Clinical/Technical Duties- To participate in the provision of the cardiac rhythm management including remote monitoring service and technical invasive cardiology service and assist during the full range of cardiac procedures undertaken within the angiography suite.
- To maintain standards of technical competency in the provision of all technical cardiac procedures (invasive and non-invasive).
- To assist with the efficient running of the technical service by prioritising the daily workload where appropriate.
- To effectively, promptly, and professionally respond to cardiac/life-threatening emergency situations maintaining control and requesting assistance as necessary.
- To be responsible for identifying equipment faults, and directly resolve fault issues by reporting them in a timely manner.
- To provide first line interpretation and full technical reports of individual tests performed whilst reviewing/assisting with the reporting of studies performed by junior staff members.
- To remain up to date with latest trends in clinical physiology translating these into practice and transferring this knowledge to staff within ones area of responsibility. To assist with research studies as required.
- To ensure all patients receive appropriate and individualised care.
- To undertake service provision and/or training in other areas of Clinical Physiology, as required.
Training, Teaching and Research Responsibilities- Regular participation with MDT, cardiology research, performing clinical trials, audit and equipment testing.

Person SpecificationQualificationsEssential- BSc (Hons) Clinical Physiology or equivalent
- Intermediate Life Support Skills
- Heart Research UK or International Board of Heart Rhythm Examiners in Devices or Electrophysiology
- Advanced Life Support
- RCCP or equivalent registration
- Post grad Studies in relevant field
Desirable- Teaching certificate/ Assessors Award
ExperienceEssential- High level of specialist knowledge in areas of non-invasive cardiology, equivalent to that of master's level
- Extensive experience in physiological investigations
- Extensive relevant experience for cardiac rhythm management including remote monitoring service and general physiological measurements experience
- Demonstrate competency to lead in ECG, ETT, Ambulatory Monitoring, pacing and complex device follow-up
